Accent Berkeley Place will break ground on 198 units this fall, which is just prior to delivery of the first units of Accent Woodlawn Park. Both projects are located in Charlotte.

Location
Accent Berkeley Place will be desirable for multi-family units due to its location only 1.5 miles north of the University of Charlotte and 2.5 miles east of Centene Corporation’s new East Coast Headquarters. Centene is investing over a billion US dollars and creating jobs for over 3,000 highly skilled employees.

Equity
The equity required for construction of the 198-unit project is approximately $13.6 million and has already been raised.

Land purchased
“We have just closed on the land purchase and have started preparing for construction,”
stated Westplan Partner Ewoud Swaak. “The city of Charlotte has both a diversified economy and strong population growth, which makes it very suitable for new multi-family apartments.”

Over 500 Class A multi-family units in Charlotte
Westplan is also going to add more units at Accent Woodlawn Park, which is 304 Class A multi-family apartments, with 53 additional townhomes that will also be leased. In total Westplan will be building over 500 Class A multi-family units in Charlotte.

Developing new multi-family communities
Westplan continues to focus on developing new multi-family communities and will further expand its portfolio this year. The successful sale of over 900 multi-family units in 2020 in Atlanta, Nashville and Athens during the COVID-19 pandemic confirms the confidence that investors and buyers have in well located multi-family projects. The demographics and economic growth of our target markets in the Southeastern US support our thesis to continue to actively develop quality multi-family housing.
